just bought a 2002 Formula NHRA edition
So I posted some pics of the car in the introduction thread so I'll spare you guys the back story but long story short, just picked up the 02 formula a few weeks ago with 66k miles on it, it's an NHRA edition with an Auto, no traction control, cloth interior and 3:23s (standard with the NHRA package) I'm the 4th owner, car has been in NY it's entire life until now. So far I have done the door panel crack fix to prevent them from getting worse, fixed one fender bracket to make it line up better, threw on an SLP lid and cleaned the car up. Car had alot of fine rock chips and swirls in the paint..i guess that's what i get for buying a black car, but I was able to do a paint restore on it and actually it turned out very nice. The car came with the speedline/ws6 wheels on it and flowmaster exhaust tips, but aside from that the car is stock. Future plans this summer are LT headers and an off road Y with magnaflow catback that my friend is giving me for free (came off his 00 ws6). Other than that, I will be just driving and enjoying the car when the weather is nice.
first picture of it right before the drive home from NY
during the drive back
last owner had the sail panel replaced with a pre 98 sail panel and painted to match
here's what I was working with
after the paint detail
my buddy flipping off the camera in the reflection lol
cruisin with the rest of the crew

who makes good springs? i dont want to slam it, my friend with a 00 ws6 has eibach pro kit springs on it and he has alot of clearance issues (partially because of his exhaust also). Ive heard eibachs arent the best either. Any companies out there make a 1" drop spring?

Looks great! What exactly did you do for the paint detail? Buff and wax?

Congrats on the new car, looks really clean. As for the previous owner, I hope he didn't hack off the whole roof/sail panel and put that green one in there. Its just a plastic trim piece that goes over the metal that bubbles, you remove the plastic part, replace and paint.

No, he just took the picture of the sail panel after removing it from the junkyard car, the body shop separated the panel from it and only replaced the fiberglass.
