how do you tell if a ws6 is a real ws6 or just has a hood and decals

Look at the RPO Decal on the driver's door. If WS6 isn't listed, then it's a clone.

RPO sticker indeed is where you look. Its in Alphabetical and alphanumeric order. Mines in the glove box.

If your door sticker doesn't have the WS6 code then it isn't a WS6. If its an 8 cylinder then you will have the LS1 code and at the least a WS9 code which means you have a formula. Also if you have a power steering cooler and ram air hood it is very likely that you have a WS6.
