Default turbo on a 1980 ta with 6.6L

well just as the title says ive been thinking about slapping a turbo on my 1980 trans am. its a mild build 400ci. forged internals, cam,intake....., stall, shift kit 3.73 gears, etc. im kind of getting bored and am going to be getting a set of heads soon and was also thinking about throwing a gt40 turbo on it. what do yall think? i only want to run like 6-8lbs of boost nothin wild. after heads i should be around 500hp to the crank. so with that extra boost i think ill be happy with it. let me know what you all think or if anyone here has done it already/

i personally don't think a muscle car should have a turbo or super-charger on it. Just my opinion.

sounds good to me don't listen to black hills tj. he don't know jack. I think throwing the turbo on there and keeping it mild is a great idea. Forced induction has been going on since cars themselves pretty much. Muscle most def. should have a turbo or supercharger on them its where they belong that's how you show the imports how a turbod car is supposed to perform.

Well I really don't think a Turbo belongs on an old school muscle car. Supercharger says muscle car in my opinion.

But, don't let anybodies opinion on this forum stop you from doing what you want. Horsepower is horsepower.
