Default Removing shifter **** on auto?

alright well i tried findin out how to remove the shift **** on my automatic firebird... but all i found was for the square camaro *****... anyone know how to do this? i dropped a the swivel pin for my turn signal lever in there and cant get in enough to see without pulling the top part of my console all the way out, and can't do it without removing the ****

There is a staple that needs to be pulled out in the front of the ****.
