Default New airbox for ram air mod?

I need some help, I've been thinking about putting a functional ram air hood on my stock 98 trans am next spring and I didn't know if I needed to change the air box in order to do this so that it is completely functional.

If your just putting a WS6 hood on it..it will work fine just how it is. If you wanna look around and buy a WS6 air box it will help more.

Is that much more worth getting the new box? I'm eventually going to do this too and was wondering the same thing.

I dont know how much it will really help but I know they are expensive as heck I was looking to buy one for a while and no one wants to let them go for under 120 bucks or so, so if you find one for cheap buy it.

You dont HAVE to get one. The opening on a WS6 air box is about 2in...the opening on a reg air box is like 1in. Have to no....for the full upgrade to be worth it get the WS6 box.

Ok, thanks guys for your advice. My friend told me that I wouldn't need one, but I wanted to know from some WS6 owners. I think I might hold off on that mod for a while and get headers and possibly a cam instead, and worry about the hood later.
