I went to 3 different dealerships and none of them were willing to replace the Throttle position sensor under warranty nor the fuel pump because they are "wear and tear items or not covered under warranty" .....

That kind of **** pisses me off. I used to be a service writer at a Chevy dealership. I would go to a neutral unknown dealership and ask for list of items convered under the extended powertrain warr. Then take it back to that dealer and shove it somewhere. OK I'm done ranting. If you already have a Vette, and a TBSS, why don't you buy a pickup to replace your pickup? Maybe a Chevy with a 6.2 liter.

I was REALLY interested in getting a Silverado 1500 with the 6.2, I had found out at the Boston/New England Auto Show it was actually going to be offered, HOWEVER, it only comes in the quad cab which I do not need and it prices up to $48k+ with the 6.2. For that price I'd get into a Denali you know?? I am back at the drawing board, I am going to make some changes I think. At this point I am 100% not looking at the CTS-V's anymore and am no longer interested in the 335i. I am now looking at GTO's and still the G8. I REALLY like the G8, I just dont want to give up the truck to get it. I may pay the truck off, I only owe $4,900 on it, but the economy is not helping and those extra funds to make moves like this just are NOT there right now. It really sucks too cause the deals out there are redciulous!

What about a new Hemi 391 hp (only 12 less than 6.2 Chevy) Ram?

Orrr, sell the Ram and buy an equipment trailer and use your Trailblazer to pull it. Buy an old beater truck for the days you need the p/u bed. If you mod your TBSS like you did your ram, you will have a very low 13 sec daily driven trailer towin (mine tows my boat once in a while) G8 from a stop light beatin' suv.

I've found that now that I have a TBSS and it runs as good as it does, it's hard to come up with a reason to get rid of it. It does everthing I need to do and runs pretty good. I do admit though, my old beater pick up truck comes in handy at times.

I just traded in my 04 GMC Xcab Z71 in on my G8. I miss the truck but I love the G8. I will get a trailer for my Jeep since I never really towed anything with the Truck.

Maybe I should drive up to Milan and run with my G8 brothers.

The valve covers have never been off my G8.

Maybe you should. Because there will be a TBSS (freind of mine) there that has about the same mods you do, headers, stall, intake, tune, pulley that ran 12.41 a couple of weaks ago when the cammed tuned, intake, converter, headers..... G8's (two of them, one from Livernois) couldn't hang with him. That's if you want to compare apples to apples. Your sig time is about what the cammed G8's were running a couple of weaks ago. So maybe you won't run as good up here at Milan. Come on up, gates open at 5, may not be too crowded, it just stopped raining here. It all has to be fun though.

In their defense, they are just getting used to the power. When they get drag radials, you'll see a big difference in their times.

My time was one of two runs on borrowed drag radials. I had one decent run with wheel spin for a couple car lengths and one run with wheel hop through 1st (12.6). I have my own now and I'll have plenty of time to experiment with launch rpm and technique.

I have no doubt I'll have a 12.2x this season on ET Streets with runners up front, on a completely stock motor with just bolt-ons.

The one cammed G8 has been cammed for about a year now. He ran it last year w/out drag radials and this year with drag radials, still only a 12.5??. You should have came up/over and ran. I ran a new pb of 13.17@104.69, but there were no G8's to beat up on. jk. Seriously, the G8's that I've seen run weren't driven very well. The best bolt on G8 on April 4th got smoked off the line and about half way down the track by a stock TBSS that ran a low 14 to the G8's 13.3?. Which was the best run for for the G8. So he was obviously spinning. Any way last night there was a new CTS-V auto running low 12's (12.19 best, against me of course) said it was stock. And a BMW 335xi with a juice box, catless down pipe, exhaust and relocated intercooler running mid 12's. The air was good, DA of 350 and you could run at will.

I was kind of kidding about coming to Milan, it would be an 8 to 10 hour ride for me.

Then again, maybe in the fall...

One of these will probably be my new daily driver.

I wish I could afford to say the same. Instead of the 335xi I would probably have to go with a 535i or a 535xi (or 535i with x drive as they are now called) because I need the room for the 2 kids. I like the 535's also because they are sleepers compared to 550's and of course M5's. A 535 only weighs about 150lbs more than a comparable 335. And the juice box works on them all.

You're right. I think the 535xi is probably the way to go.
I can't wait for the new DSG transmissions to be available for the 335 and 535xi's.

I loved my E92 335. Great tq band - left it stock and sold it within a year.

Haven't driven a 535 yet. My 08 GTI (just left my driveway this past weekend) had the DSG tranny in it. what an amazing transmission.

Search around on the web for the DSG(VW/Audi) vs M DCT (BMW)

Pros and cons to both - but hands down handling and quality of build goes to BMW.

I also had a chance to tour their facility and the BMW Welt last December in Munich -

Default 1930 Mercedes 770K

I saw your signature. I well remember the 1977 450SEL 6.9 was a monster motor to be sure. But I am sure you know of the 1930 Mercedes like the 1930 770K. I actually saw in the Pebble Beach. These things are as long as Crew Cab Trucks with full size 8 ft beds to boot.

Displacement 7655.00 cc | 467.1 cu in. | 7.7 L.

I do know of it, STAR magazine (mercedes enthusiast magazine) and History Of Mercedes Benz comment that the 6.9 is/was the biggest "mass produced" V8. The 7.7 was only in 770 vehicles, due to this exclusivity and "optional supercharger" which btw only 13 ppl chose NOT to have the supercharger (why the 6.9 get the crown of biggest due to 757 having superchargers), they gave the title to the 6.9. Not many people will even know this, nice to see someone else with mercedes knowledge!
