Most car makers start producing and selling the next years model in the second half of the year. A ford rep told me they already have some 2014 model cars...I haven't confirmed that though

I bet the chrome wheels were a dealer added item, not offered from the factory. Easy to have done and get some extra profit for the dealer. I also remember them offering a forged wheel (MC2), it was a very nice looking wheel but they were prone to cracking. Just type it into Google image, "MC2 Pontiac Wheels"
