Best intake?
What will be the best intake for ls1 346ci 243 heads ported and completely done. I know if I put on a big intake, it is pointless. Too much air going through for my car to keep up. I have a stock intake at the moment.

Nobody said the FAST was a factory part... It is a factory STYLE plastic intake.
I don't think a FAST is going to give away too much... If it is, sand/smooth it down and paint it black. ****, something besides a stock TB would let them know you have something other than stock on there.
Why recommend this over a 102?

A 102 is to big for a 346 with 243 heads. I called and ordered a fast 92 is the safest bet from what you guys told me and few guys at Lingenfelter. They said a 102 will give me negative horsepower. It would like be drinking a milk shake through a coffee straw.
I will do that fast 92. Thanks man, it is the safest bet, but will be 900 bucks. I may look for a used one.
Yupp! Thanks.

A FAST 102 will make more power over an ls1/ls2/ls6/90/92 even on a BONE STOCK ls1.
There is a reason the discontinued the 90/92 and were only producing the 102.
They brought the 92 back for two reasons.
1. People like you believe the myth it is "too big"
2. The Corvette guys (clearance issues)
Go ahead and buy a 92, you're leaving power on the table.
You can get a brand new 102 shipped for 800$
The info is out there.. For you, others, and lingenfelter to find... Just depends on how bad you want to know the truth.

So say 770$ shipped for the intake itself... Say on low side 20$ to ship it. That is 750$, and he had to of still made a little money.
AFAIK all vendors pay the same price for FAST intakes... So if they tell you they can't go that low, it is just that they don't want to.

I bought mine for 800$ shipped to my door... And he tossed in a gasket kit (30ish$).

I missed two KILLER deals on used ones... One by a day and the other was sold from under me.
I posted on a LS FB page that I am a part of and a vendor spoke up and said he could get me a great deal on one.
I wasn't expecting one that good.
After I sold my 90 with rails and bought the brand new 102 with gaskets and brand new rails I was out less than 150$.

Well whoever told you that on here and at Lingenfelter needs to stop spreading false information.

I think I would rather listen to them when they test this type of stuff every day. Even called Vengeance Racing. Best be is a 92 or 90, until I have a bigger cubic inch engine, then I would buy a 102. I will end up losing torque and it is over kill for a regular ls1.

Because sells reps are always right.
They answer phones and sell things, you don't talk to the brains.
Best is a 102, period... You can't argue that. It has been proven over and over.
You will not lose torque or power ANYWHERE on the graph even on a stock Ls1.
But listen to them.. I'm sure they wouldn't steer you wrong.

It is narrow alright...
Whatever floats your boat, no point in me helping if it is just shot down.
FWIW... YOU came on here asking this question.
Which leaks me to believe two different things..
Either
A. You don't trust the original advice/people 100% (small amount of doubt).
B. You don't know as much as the people that are going to answer your question.
Anybody that says a 90/92 will outperform a 102 needs to be learned something!
Just remember, the info is out there if you want it.. It is your money, not mine.... Pick a stock 5.3 truck intake for all I care.
Ported 102 for my combo!

I am not going to argue with you. You are the only one that suggested a 102 were three others suggested 90 or 92. *** hole.
