Default GTO opinions

Hey everyone, so currently I own a 2006 Monte Carlo SS and I have been finding myself to want more power. It's only my second car and it was something that I rushed into in order to have something to drive. I love the styling of it, but I feel like I have to baby it or the transmission will spontaneously explode. I have really liked the modern GTO. And I have found one that looks promising http://www.hannaimports.com/detail.a...20131002155226

It has 20,000 less miles then my Monte does and it looks really clean (I know pictures only say so much). With the Monte the biggest issue is the trans. Are there any big issues with the GTO. I have done a little research and haven't really come up with to much to steer me away from one. It seems like the biggest thing with the 05' is that the seat moves slow and that it is kind of boaty. But the seat thing isn't a big deal to me because I don't have many people who ride in my back seats and once I set my seat, it pretty much never moves. And then the boatyness can be fixed with a new, stiffer suspension. Is there anything I'm missing that is a big issue with the 05' GTO? I'm going to look at it tomorrow, so hopefully it looks as good in person as it does in the pics

Looks clean that's for sure. Trailer hitch in the trunk, not many GTO owners have those.

Highest mile GTO I have ever seen sold was an 06 with 235K miles. An automatic, they seem to be less WHoooooop.....wahhhhhhhed on than the stick shifts cars. I had stick and automatics. If the car had stuck around I am sure paddle shifting would have been a nice addition. I wouldn't worry as much about mileage. I once bought an FRC vette with 8k miles and it was in the shop all the time for lack of use issues. Drive em' man!

You will love the GTO.

I would advise buying aftermarket Radius Rod bushings, strut mounts, and rear springs. All of these are common failure parts on the GTOs.
