Default M6 shifter questions

I have a 04 T56 that I am installing in my 69 camaro, and I am looking to upgrade the shift lever and **** for looks only at the moment. I would like to use the hurst lever, but it looks as if the stock lever is twisted. Looking down at the shifter it appears to be rotated CCW about 60-70 degrees roughly and the offset in the stock lever is positive towards the passenger seat.

1 Is this correct?

2 How to fix?

3 Will After Market lever be twisted as well?

Pics?
The CCW rotation sounds about right but being "offset" towards the passenger seat doesn't sound like the stock shifter at all. It may just appear that it is pointing that way. The shifter shaft is straight from the pivot ball on the bottom to the bolt holes for the shift ****. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear lever positions progressively point more and more to the right but not "offset". In 1st and 2nd gear the lever is a touch more vertical.

The aftermarket shifter you put on should allow for re-clocking of the ****/handle. If using a stock shifter handle it will be straight.

Thanks, Dont have pics bc its at a friends shop at the moment. Offset may be the wrong word, but definitely points that way when in nutral.

No problem! There are some offset shifter rods available that allow you to position the **** where it is closer to the driver side. Check out LS1GTO dot com for more info on what is out there.
