Default 2004 GTO rear diff issues

Hey guys having some issues with my rear diff. I have an 04 auto with 40k miles diffident making the "whine" noise that is speed dependent. The dealer says it can't be replaced and in order to fix it it must be ordered from Australia. They also told me that my carrier to bearing was out after I picked the car up from having them check the noise out and determine the cause. Any help someone could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

Your carrier bearing would be helped best by ditching the stock drive shaft and getting a one piece. The rear end can be rebuilt by places like gForce Engineering and other places.

The only mainstream driveshaft id consider is from the driveshaft shop and bolts to oem pinion yoke on the diff. Carbon fiber is the best way to go.

I hear vatozone has them with a lifetime warranty. If you're not racing, they might suit you.

While you're at it, upgrade to 05-06 axles. They bolt right in and are stronger than the 04s.
