They are adequate, just not super friendly. I love the car, but it's a bit of a challenge to get back there. Appreciate the compliment, been collecting these things since they were new. Women may come and go, but cool cars are forever.

Lol 02 ws6 and ultimate orange. I really appreciate your all honesty about these cars. I really would like one but I'm not sure they are the car for me with my budget. Backseat space doesn't really matter for me since I don't have to ride back there, I just want something that has comfortable front seats and power.

Well, the front seats are light years ahead of even a nice set of T/A seats, to say nothing of Camaro Seats. If I were you, I'd find a local GTO guy or two and ask for a ride and drive. Good luck with your hunt!

GTO seats are light years better than a 4th gen. Also I thought they was better than than my 5th gen to. Only car that I can think of with better seats than the goat was my charger srt8 best seats ever. What is your budget range ?

My budget is about 11k and under...which I'm starting to realize is not even close to ideal.

If I was gonna buy another goat I'd set aside like 14K :/ you'd be getting a pretty beaten car for like 11

Agreed, but you might get lucky and catch someone that really needs to get rid of a nice one. I've been close to selling several times, then I drive something else and remember why I've had mine for almost 10 years... it really is a good all-around car.

Yeah. I thought since these cars are almost 10 years old they would be a little cheaper. I bought my very well taken care of all stock 98 Z28 for 8200 in 05 so I thought finding a GTO would be a similar experience. I will probably start setting cash aside and also sell my jeep to get the best GTO I can afford.

It's because Pontiac no longer with us. So every guy that owns a GTO or G8 GXP thinks they gold when they are really not lol. Idk you should be able to find a 04 GTO in your price range with low miles no problem if you don't mind the ls1. Also the 05-06 models with low miles are close to 20k still. For that price you can get into a 5th gen SS. Witch is a much better car than the GTO.

Yeah that's about right, I found a BOM M6 GTO with like 40K miles for just below 20K. I don't think 50,000 miles would be too expensive to get for a DD

Might be a slight bump, but you might be able to get lucky with an 11k budget. I got a Yellow 04 A4 with 67 k miles for 11,500. Good condition, stock. Headliner sags a good bit, and the steering seems pretty vague so bushings and what not might be in order. But the car is comfortable and much more of a DD than my T/A ever could be.

Everybody loves to hate on the '04s. Those might be the idiots who paid too much for an LS2. Reality is the nicer cars will show themselves. Shop well, and as I've said before, buy the nicest car your budget allows, regardless of year. I'd rather have my '04 with 250K on it than an 50K '06 some dumbasskid had.

I love the powerband of the LS2 compared to the LS1. I didn't overpay for mine though. I got my 05 M6 for $6500, it has 188K, but it still drives like new.

As for the OP, or anyone else looking at these. The MPG's blow, I get around 19MPG. It's a really comfortable daily driver, WAYYY better than an Fbody or mustang. The rear seat access is terrible, but once you're back there, they are nice and roomy. Trunk is useless, four bowling ***** and mine is basically full.

I am in the market for a clean goat myself. BUT there is one other thing to keep in mind if you are going to daily this car. IF these cars take any and I mean ANY sort of hit the insurance companies are totaling them instantly regardless of miles and cleanliness. GM has discontinued a lot of parts for them already and the pool of clean parts is scarce in salvage yards. So these are things to keep in back of your head when dropping 13-17K for a 9-10 year old car that is no longer with us.

Buying stupid **** like interior panels, headlights etc are all a pain in the *** and people ask $$$ for stuff.

I miss my GTO for the comfort and power, but I enjoy my tin can 95 Camaro much more for the vast CHEAPER aftermarket and that CL has replacement parts.
