Default swapping a t56 to 4L60e

Guys I need help... i have a 98 trans am auto, my nephew has a 05 gto 6 speed .. he is tired of driving his gto as a DD... what parts does he need to swap his transmission to make it an auto?. .. thanks

Tcm, engine wire harness, Gto specific bell housing, cross member, and I'm pretty sure a drive shaft. Lots of reprogramming which will have to be done with a tech 2. There's going to be more. I'd suggest searching on ls1gto.com. It has been done before.

For the cost and trouble I'd look for one to buy that was an auto.

All those except he doesn't need a new driveshaft and a simple tuner like HPT can change the car from a manual to an automatic (just like it can be done the other way).

He will need a shifter and the rest of the assembly/console trim.
