Trying to decide on wheels and suspension.
I just purchased my first goat, and would like to change up the look and stance.
The car has a set of 5 twin spoke (if that makes sense?) aza 18" wheels and what I think is factory ride height.
I would like get a set of 18" vmr 703's. I'm just not sure what back spacing to get? I would like to do a staggered set, with more of a lip in the rear if that is an option. Maybe like a 235 in the front and a 255 in the rear, unless I can go wider and not rub. I'm not against rolling the fenders either.
Keeping the rambling I typed above in mind, I would like to lower the car a bit. Do most people do springs and struts or coil overs? The car only has 31k on it so I doubt the suspension is worn to much, but if I do decide to change the bushings out, is poly the preferred method with these cars?

You can go 8.5" wide in front with a 35-40et wheel. Rears would be 9.5" on a 45et or greater if available. 245 and 275 for tire width is possible, as long as fenders are rolled and trimmed where needed.
Front radius rod and rear x member bushes should be a priority. The radius rod bush will keep things much tighter up front and the rear x member bush will help keep tire rub down when under load.
Coilover is the way to go if you want a new level of refinement and lowering of the car.
You can search on the web, lots of stuff has been available for years, and in much more detail on this and other forums.
