I have decided to purchase a GTO as a donor for my Chevelle transformation. I buy wrecked vehicles from salvage yard auctions online. Typically the photos are good or the people running the yard will go out and take a better photo if I call. However this particular yard wont, and it is to far for me to drive and look for myself. I have the Vin number and am looking to decode it to see if its a Tremec or not. I used the vin decoder on this site and it dose not work. I put in a Vin number of a GTO that I knew was a 6 speed and tried to decode it here and came up with the same answer. (Manual,Automatic OD) Just checking to see if anyone here could help.

have you tried calling a dealership to have them look up the vin and RPO codes?

kind of **** the yard wont even confirm if its a manual or auto for you.
