Anyone here interested in meeting at Bradenton (FL) dragstrip?
They have test & tune Thursday nights, and I'm thinking of taking my Audi RS6 for a run or two. Maybe this Thursday (Jan 19), with temp forecast in 60s and no rain expected, but I can wait if it would help me hook up with a GTO. Prefer 05 or 06 stock, since I'm stock & looking for a fair contest. Saturdays are possible, too ... here's the schedule:

The RS6 is a limited production souped-up version of the A6, 2003 MY only, with 450 hp, 420 lb ft and AWD. But it's also heavier than a GTO by almost 400 lbs, so it should be an interesting contest. Close at least, I figure.
My RS6 was in the shop for two weeks recently and, since that's the fourth time that has happened, I started shopping around. Drove some of the new performance sedans from Lexus, Acura and Infiniti, but the most exciting performer was the GTO -- for tens of thousands less. I was very impressed and came close to buying one, but now that my blue baby is back I plan to keep it a while ... until the next need for service at least!
Anyhow, I don't do this often because Audis are not really built for drag racing, but if anyone is interested in my challenge, just post here.

jaxrs6; If I was in FL I would meet you there but I'm in central NY finishing my other project car, I have a 04 with a 2005 sport pakage so it looks like a 05 GTO. As you might know is a LS1 350hp stock but I would like to meet sometime around spring when I trailer my car back to FL so that we can settle this.

Thanks for the link, ultimate; I'll try to follow it.
Tito, let me know later when you'll be in FL. Can you email me thru this forum?
I realize AWD is not best for drag racing, which is why I don't do it often. But I was at Bradenton last night, saw several GTOs and posted a personal best of 12.95/107.75 in the Audi. Having dipped below 13, I'm gonna give it a rest for a while. That car at least.
The GTOs were a slightly modified 06, looked great and ran a 13.1 with tuning & limited mods, and a couple of 04s running low 14s. The 06 GTO may have had a run better than 13.1 later, or not; I left & didn't see him on the way out.

I used to own a typhoon by GMC , is a 4.3 turbocharged motor. I made a couple of mods to it but it had AWD system , I blew it over and over again , never dyno the power to wheels but dyno motor @ 407.0@ 6200rpm. ATR applied technologies help me with the AWD problem, they sell a kit to disconnect and tranfer all the power to the rear. But then I sold the truck, Friend gave me an offer I culdn't refuse. There is still some pic posted in ATRappliedtech.com website. best run was 10.36 @126 , I'll keep in touch!!!
