LS1 Engine - It makes noise (Video Attached)
Category: Engine - Complete Motors
Price: $200
Location (State): MA
Item Condition: Used
LS Engine?: Fits LS Engine
Sounds fine when cold
While hot
Intake, oil pan (an LQ9 oil pan is installed just to protect the crank), oil pickup tube and crank hub are not included.
Heads, valley cover, timing cover, flexplate etc are included.
I don't know what is wrong with the engine, I haven't gotten my car up and running yet, so I haven't had a chance to look at it. If it's not sold in a month or so then I'll start looking for the issue.
I will sell the 806 heads separate if you'd like.
Would consider trades or trade + cash from me for a low mile 4L60e, 4L80e, a stall 3200-3600 torque converter, a T56, racing seats, rims, LS6 intake. Interested in all kind of things, just trying to make some room. Let me know.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell for sure without pulling the engine down and I don't want to say what it is unless I know for sure. It could be a connecting rod noise (pulling the plugs one at a time doesn't change the sound at all though), could be a cam bearing or it could be a bad wrist pin (was told to look into the wrist pin by a reputable shop but since they never diagnosed the engine first hand I definitely wouldnt hold them to it). All I know is the short block will at least need to be torn down to find out what it is.
Thanks! Hopefully someone can find a good use for it.
