"crack" in body on 2014 ZL1 door striker/jamb?

"crack" in body on 2014 ZL1 door striker/jamb? I went and looked at a 2014 ZL1 today... and while checking out the car, I noticed one thing that has me thinking about passing...
On the bottom of the "b" pillar/door jamb, about 2" up, right around where the body line "sucks" in - there's almost like a "crack" in the body/paint. It's on both sides of the car - same spot.
I really should have taken a picture. It's almost like seam sealer or something - you can see the crack with the door closed.
I've attached a pic from the ad with the area highlighted. You can't see it here, only with the door open. It's felt either like the paint cracking at a seam - I didn't want to crack it any worse so I didn't touch it too much.
Is this something that's common/normal or a sign I should run run away?

here's the area I'm talking about found a pic of a z/28 with the door open... it's right in the highlighted area - I think it's a seam but should the paint be cracking there on a 2 year old car?

I went and looked at a 15 1LE Sunday and when I was checking the car over, I noticed what looked like a "crack" in the exact same area as the pics above from a distance, my heart sank when I saw it.
Upon closer inspection, its a clear vinyl protective patch from the factory, or what appears to be anyway. Same spot, both sides.

I thought it was weird it was in the same spot on both sides.
I had thought it might have been one of those - my truck (2010 Sierra) has them on the box... of course not where the rocks get, but whatever, nice try GM...
I've been all over the map... buy the ZL1, buy a C7, buy a 6th gen, just fix all the stuff on my Ram Air and paint it... I love my TA but 15 year old daily driver... not this year... this year it's been a 15 year old car
