Does anyone have any ideas on how to quite down the shifter noise when using a B&M ripper on a Z06? Love the shifter, hate the noise. Please help

If it's the rattling that you get at high rpm's, I had that too with the Pro 5.0. Mine went away with time.

I don't know if this works or not, but I've seen a couple things posted.

One is to take some Dynamat extreme and tightly wrap it around the upright portion of the shifter body. Then take some more and again tightly wrap a couple layers around the shifter handle.

Another idea I've seen is to either take some thin gasket material or get a t56 gasket from stangshiftergaskets.com. Put this gasket between the transmission and the shifter.

Again, I don't know how much these help, but they might be worth trying.

I just bought the stang one and it will not work (way too small)
But they have a sister site now, fbodyshiftergaskets
dot com. Well worth it.

Just ordered one...kinda anxious to see how it works. My B&M isn't too noisy, but if it makes it even more quiet, that's even better. For $7.00, I'll pass up on a double whopper and eat some good ol' PB&J.

Guys, you will really like my F-body shifter gasket set. It will definitely quiet much of the gear noise which is accentuated with billet shifters. I actually just launched the website yesterday after three years of successful sales of my late model Mustang shifter gasket sets. I've always wanted to do a set for the late model Camaro/Firebird with the T-56 and my goal is finally achieved. And you certainly can't beat the price! LOL!

Sweet...I'll be sure to post up some feedback on it. Website was VERY easy to use, and definitely can't beat the price.

my fix was to turn up the stereo
sorry, but it worked.
You could try weighting the stick a bit. Heard that helps!

Thanks! I'm very happy that I can now help the late model (1993-2002) F-bodies with their shifter noise.
