LS1 Lid conversion on LT1 with stock hood....

You have to lay the radiator back almost until the upper radiator hose touches the ABS mounting plate (1/4 inch gap). Pull the condenser out of it's holding tabs and drop down. Tap down the top of the condenser. Bend the upper condenser hose to fit. Trim the radiator top. Trim the upper radiator support to fit your particular size air filter. Make some new holding straps/and or make a new cover. Cut the cross brace in the hood, just above where the Air intake will sit.
Lots of work for a stock type car...Hopefully I can get to the dyno this week and see what if any real gains on my 401 combo..I can already tell you, it does pull harder in the upper rpm ranges vs. my old Moroso CAI (could be due to better cold air affect though), and that the IAT's stay down to outside temp if you stay moving over 20mph.

Here's a video of my car "when it gets done optimizing"
That shows the hood down...

I'll get those under hood pictures loaded maybe, tonight...

That's a custom "Speed Secrets" intake manifold. Ellis "twofast4lv" put it together. Welded behind runners, ported runners, ported threw the whole manifold. Top was cut and raised 2 inches. NO cross over tube hump in manifold

Your intake is NUTS! And that TB, who makes that? Is that just a Holley? Looks bigger heh. FULL OF questions

The TB is an LPE/Accell. Back in the day (I'v had my stroker sense 1997) that's the only thing you could get. It's actually got a 3rd gen TPS plug that came with a kit from LPE, to convert our smaller "LT1 Plug" to that bigger 3rd gen plug.
Bret,
I hope to see some power out of it. I know Ellis could not get any traction with it after the 2/3 shift. He had to lift twice and had spinning problems off the line, like a 1.7 something 60 foot. The first day out this season it ran a 1.52.
I'm sure it will 60 in the 1.4's next year with some time on it. Not bad for 3700+lbs....

From: LT1 land...the "409" of the 90s!
We are real interested in the results. JimBob worked hard to get it all done. If it works as well as reported we will be converting the other shop car also
JimBob did an outstanding job. He worked on it for days to make sure it was just right.
Good Job Jim!

Over a stock setup or a K&N CAI aftermarket, was this on a LT1 car?
