Good headers
hookers have very thin flanges, I was really disappointed when I saw them, because I have had hookers on other cars in the past and they were always good quality, but for some reason the LT1 headers arent
I am also happy with my coated Pacesetters. A small amount of rust stains around the welds, but no issues with leaks or flaking. Not sure on your "true dual" question. I think you get good flow with the 3" y-pipe and a good cat-back. This combination with the Pacesetters keeps a very good ground clearance for me.

i put on my hookers and they were pretty easy to install... still havent experienced them while working but i have only heard good things about their performance. i have had the pacetters (didnt install them though) and they were AWESOME with the true duals on my last car.. i wouldnt have traded that exhaust for the world... well maybe for thw world but you know what i mean...
You can get Pacesetter stuff almost anywhere.
And yes, you will want to buy the Y-Pipe from Pacesetter also, its notched and the correct dimensions (OD) to work without any modifications.

I got shorty's because I have a lowered car. I bought coated hooker super comp shorty's and have had them on for almost three years and still look good. I would recommend also getting percys gaskets for the flange on whatever header's you decide to get.
