1998 Trans Am WS6 #19 - Bright Purple Metallic - 1 of 12
Now is your chance to own one of the most oddball production LS1 WS6s they built.... This car was the 6th of 12 WS6s that were built, and one of 6 that came equipped with a 6-speed.
I really would prefer not to sell it, but I am trying to move back into the city and need to scale down on the amount of garage space I need, and cut my mod/maintenance budget down.
$12,000 or best offer
Specs are as follows...
1998 Trans Am WS6 M6
Grey leather interior
Standard seats (non-lumbar)
32,xxx miles
Mods
4.10 gears
LS7 clutch
B&M Ripper shifter
SLP Loudmouth exhaust
Debaffled hood scoops
I'm the 4th owner of the car, and it originally came from the Madison, Wisconsin area... it stayed in that area up until October 2005 when I found the car on Auto trader. I shipped it to the Seattle area, and it has been garaged and only driven in fair weather since then. I've only put ~3000 miles on it since I bought it in October of 2005.
It has not been wrecked, and has the original factory paint.
As you can see from the door sticker, this is the real deal:

The most important thing to stress here:
If you're looking for a car that is in showroom condition, this one is NOT the car.
The car is mechanically in excellent condition, and drives pretty much like these cars do when new. It is strong running, and solid, and is quite a blast to drive. It looks good enough that it attracts quite a bit of attention, and gets many compliments while out and about.
Body
The car is not perfect, but is in overall very good shape for it's age, and has low mileage. There are rock chips on the nose, and the driver's door has some noticeable scratches in it. There is a spot on the nose where bug guts seem to have marked the paint. Most of the paint looks very good. The body panels are straight, and all the trim is there. Passenger door hinge is sagging a bit, so it latches a bit hard and needs to be realigned. There are some barely visible cracks in the paint on the rear bumper, looks like it may have been backed into something. The body and undercarriage are pretty much rust-free.
Drivetrain
The engine is bone stock, and runs very strong, in fact it pretty much runs like brand new. Tranny is solid, and the entire clutch system was recently replaced, new master and slave cylinders, stock gear was replaced with a LS7 clutch. Shifter is a B&M Ripper with a Hurst "cue-ball" style shift **** - I still have the stock non-Hurst shifter also. 4.10 gears were installed on the car before I bought it. Exhaust is fairly loud.. looks like it's been on the car a while, and does have some pitting and rust on it. I've only used 10w30 Mobil 1 in it, and I've changed it once a year regardless of mileage.
Wheels / Tires / Suspension / Brakes
The car is still fitted with OEM 17x9" WS6 wheels, and I've recently replaced the original ones with identical OEM wheels (not reproductions) in better condition - there is some very minor curb rash on a couple of them, but you'd really have to get up and look for it. The tires on the car are fairly new Goodyead F1s, they have about 6,000 miles on them. Suspension is bone stock. Brake calipers have been painted purple (I didn't do it). Brakes work well, and still have a fair amount of life in them.
Interior
The carpeting is in reasonably good shape, trim panels have the typical wear and tear you'd expect on a 10-year old F-body, but are all intact and without cracks. The grey color of the steering wheel buttons is wearing off, and the leather is a little flaked in spots. The driver's seat cover and cushion are fairly worn, it looks like the car was owned by a serious fatass for a while - it would need a new seat cover and lower cushion to look perfect. Rear seat leather has a couple of stains on it.
Issues that need fixing..
- The t-tops leak very slightly if the car is left in the rain for an extended period, driver's t-top only seems to leak after very heavy rain.
- Driver's side tail light leaks, water collects in the bottom. I was planning to replace them.
- Driver's side front turn signal leaks also, should be replaced (they're cheap).

Additional pictures, and a history of the car can be found here:

Another common question is regarding the undercarriage, and if there is rust since it was from Wisconsin. The underside is pretty clean, there is no real rust on it. It appears it may not have been driven in the winters. Here is the best pic I have of the undercarriage at the moment, I can take more if you really want to see it:

That's okay, I'm not so desparate to sell it that I'd entertain an offer from a 0 post user, especially one who is probably a scammer.
And on that note, I guess I should mention... I won't sell this car to just anyone who offers me money. I have no real need to sell it, and will be rather selective of whose hands it ends up in. I'll want to see that it is going to a home where it will receive the same kind of care it gets here.

I do not know how to prove to you that I am not a scammer as you do not know me, and I do not know you. I explained in my pm to you that I am a collector of fine cars, this car would be in the best environment possible. I currently have a 1973 SD 455 Trans Am in Brewster Green. 2002 Trans Am WS6 in Black, 1979 Trans am silver, being restored, 1998 convertible firebird purple metallic, 1 of 20, 1970 cuda FM3 pink with magenta strobe stripes, 1 of 5, 1970 Charger RT FJ6, 1 of 19, 1 of 2 known to exist.(being restored) 1970 challenger RTSE plum crazy, 2005 corvette, 2008 viper SSG convertible, 2008 viper violet convertible (on order) so as you can see I am a serious car collector. I can send you pictures of any except for the charger 79 trans am, and the violet viper(hasnt been built yet) But please dont just think that I am a scammer. I am very serious about buying your car. Im sorry that i only have one or two posts. I wil post more as the days go on, hopefully, this community will get to know me, and see that I am an honest person who loves cars. how can I be a scammer, when I am trying to give you money for your car? All you have to do is tell me what is the most comfortable way to do the transaction.
Please think about this. I am a serious buyer.
thanks,
benjamin

I love that car as well, I wish there were more of them so I could justify getting one like it and not feeling like I am ruining a collectors car just by driving it. I am selling an SS right now and looking for a WS6 in the meantime so I wish you the best of luck.
Zeke,
Benjamin is a very active user on the Viperclub.org site, I don't think he is a scammer. He could always wire you the money, no chance of getting scammed in that manner. Here is his user account there: http://forums.viperclub.org/members/musicncars.html
