Default timing sets

I am wondering what type of timing gear set to get?? any info... thanks

I have heard a few things about gear driven sets but dont know anyone using them, its for my 383 build that is going into my offroad truck.
not a street car but it will be driven hard, jumped, thru whoops, so i want something that will last and work good.

gear driven sets work, but they can be a PITA to set up sometimes. for 99% of builds out there a true double roller race timing chain is more than adequate.

beware of over the counter cheap double roller sets though. if you get one get a good cloyes or another high quality make.
