Default 572 block ?

Hi I have a 69 Camaro and so I am planning on an engine to put in it. Anyways is there any blocks that can be used to make a 572ci engine can I convert a 502 to 572?

You would do better with a Dart big m block. The most common build is a 540. If your on a budget you can build a 468 or 496 out of an old truck motor. What is your budget?

To get an idea on your options, check out Nyes racing engines and shafiroff racing engines and look under pump gas bbc. These sites are the easiest to research. If you want to build it yourself, they sell the parts.

Id go with a Dart Big M 9.8" deck. The 572 is a tall deck block, often has header clearance issues when used.

Can do a 4.600 Bore x 4.250" stroke crank to make a 565CI.

572 I is pretty common but balancing the crank some times requires Mallory which can be expensive.

The 540, 555, 565 are pretty are more common builds.

The Dart block would be my first choice.

Here is a 555 Bill Hartley built I helped him with his block and rotator and he used the AFR 357 heads and up graded to a .904 roller lifter for more reliability

If you have F/B here is a link.

Sorry for not getting back to you guys, I have been swamped with projects, I do like the idea of dart block, I have some dart iron eagle cylinder heads, I think the iron eagles would go good for what I am doing.
Thanks

why put iron heads on a big cube motor?

the weight savings alone and how much they will limit power on a large CID motor makes it a bad choice

Love the 565 combo too bad my wallet says not
Motors that size can swallow a LOT of head and intake so dont undersize worrying about losing torque you got cubes.
