Default 350 in a First Gen.....

A co-worker and I have been buying parts for his 69 Camaro SS, to replace his 377. His ultimate goal is to beat my car, and carry the trash talkin crown.

A fresh 4 bolt main block. Forged bottom end
Flat Top pistons
Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 23 degree Aluminum heads, CNC ported CC, 64cc, and 195 Intake runner
Edelbrock Air Gap intake
This cam
Holley 670 Street Avenger Carb
1.6 ratio Rocker arms.
MSD everything
stock GM tranny with a 2800 stall.

With the gaskets chosen, and the heads and pistons... we expect a 10.5:1 C/r

So is he going to have a Bolt on LS1 beating beast or what?

I can't wait till we get it all together.

I'd say it'll be more like 9.5-10:1 compression in a 350 with flat top pistons. With that good solid engine combo, 12s should be easy, although I'd swap the 2800 stall for something with at least 3500 stall and put 3.73 gears in the rear. Depending on how well everything works, mid 12s should happen, but there's only one way to find out!

I'd think 2800 would be fine stall, even the XE 29x wants around 3000, but if it's race only, go for it. I'd also think he'd be looking at mid to high 13s unless it has nitrous.

That cam and heads setup in a 3500 pound car with a 3000 stall and set of slicks will probably trap around 112mph and be good low 12's assuming it hooks. Should have a nice lope to it too with that 110 spread.

A fun street- strip ride no doubt!

ps- Spray the **** out it!
