Default 454 BBC Progress Pictures

Here's a few photo's of my modified K-Member. It's not sitting perfectly level on the engine stand so thats why it looks a little off. But all the measurements are good and everything is equal on both sides. I originally had half an inch between the K-member and oil pan. After I welded my new brackets on there I took a 5 pound hammer and made a little more clearance.

I'm going to get my trans Friday so I'm going to bolt everything up Saturday and get some pic's of the BBC in the car. Any thoughts or comments?

just want to make sure that just cause you center it on the subframe, that its in the center of the tranny tunnel, normally cars motors are offset some to the passanger side. So before you get to far, i would put the motor and tranny up in the car just as a test fit

Thanks for the replys. I'm getting my trans this Friday so I'm going to do a test fit this weekend. I've got about a 1/4 inch of adjustments I can make either way with the motor.

I haven't decided on the front suspension yet. I've seen one person put a 454 in and use the stock front suspension. It'll be one of those things I have to look at as I go since there isn't a blueprint on how to do this. But hey I'm having fun and can't wait to complete the project.

Ditto what Outlaw said. The motor in my '68 sits 1/2" off-center to the pass. side.

I think I'm going to try Hooker Headers 2455, I've been told those can be made to work. If those don't I'll just have to design some headers on AutoCad and make them myself.

For front springs, i believe MOOG make stock height springs with a much stiffer spring rate.
