Confused about an "Real" SS
I'm about to buy an SS. The guy is really nice and straight forward. I carfaxed the car and it just said '01 camaro z28. It didn't mention anything about an SS package. I looked at the RPO codes and it had the WU8. So...is it an SS?

If it has the RPO code WU8 on the list or the door sticker, then Yes, I would say it should be. They all started as a Z28, ..., just like the Firehawks all started as Formula's/Trans Am's.
Have you seen the car firsthand?
Or thru photos only?
Make sure the door tag has the RPO code WU8 on it.
You also need to clarify to all of us as to what year it specifically is too, as the code may be different for the older cars, I'm not sure.

They are all titled as Z28's as that is what is coded as in the VIN. SS package is just an option package on top of the Z28 model. My title says Z28 coupe and that's what all my insurance statements list it as. As long as it has the WU8 code on the RPO tag, it's a real SS.
