it says the 4" cowl pin on hood is a new designed? whats the difference between that one and the older one?

The new design is sleeker, and comes up almost immediately to 4".
The old design was more of a "turtle" - coming up slowly to 4" - giving you more like 3 1/2" of clearance and was an older style scoop.
The scoop that is on the hood now looks much better then the old.
