Will these need holes drilled behind them?

I compared these to a stock sub and the only mod that needs to be made to fit in the stock location is the 1/2" spacer.

I already answered this in post #9 right below the first time you asked Pork. That response was for your question directly. I should have seperated it from the other comments. Sorry.

I hope I didn't come off as an ***. i was just curious because I've seen some people put the hole behind the ED subs but I thought it was for sound quality not just for making it fit. So why do people put the holes behind the speaker than? As you can tell I'm a total audio noob and I just want this for my own info.

Your all right Pork....didn't take it like that!
I believe the reason for the hole is because the eD has a vented pole piece in the magnet.
Here is an install guide by Mr. Fred for the eD sub:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/639901-install-guide-w-pics-upgrading-factory-monsoon-subs-6-5-ones-ed-eu700s.html
This should help answer some more questions.
I haven't gotten to compare these yet. Soon as I do I will post it up!!

Can someone try these at least. I am not going to buy something if it sounds worse than stock or not much better.

A review or comparison would be nice.
