Default New Style Thermostat in 180*?

Has anyone seen the new 2 hole style thermostat available in 180 yet. No problem finding 160.

I would be careful running the two hole style.

I just finished installing a Mezeire electric water pump on my personal car, and it requires a thermostat with 2 holes in it. I had a 180* t-stat with no holes in it before the new waterpump and had zero problems with the car, even in 0 degree weather. Now with the new pump and a 180* t-stat with holes, the car won't get up to temp fast enough in 50 degree weather and won't enter into closed loop operation and throws SES codes.

Just a fair warning, have had this same problem on two cars so far. I'm still trying to find out if there is anything to prevent this.

Actually, I was referring to the thermostat housing. On GTO's and I assume other LS1 based cars, they changed to a new water pump and thermostat housing last fall. Some 04's have the old style with the extra hole in the housing flange, but most have the newer 2 hole. http://www.lingenfelter.com/tstatidpage.asp The new style, you can replace just the thermostat element itself, without having to do the whole housing. I have no plans on drilling holes in the thermostat, but I might see if I can install a spacer to lower the opening temperature, if no one comes out with a 180.
