For immediate release, 14 May 2012 - Formula Drift Round 2, "Road to the Championship", showcased top drift drivers on a new and difficult course layout in Atlanta, Georgia on May 10-12, 2012. Driver Aurimas Bakchis (Odi), the 2011 Rookie of the Year, traveled from California to compete at the event and finished Top 8, securing a strong presence in the 2012 Formula Drift season.

The Atlanta drift course was altered for 2012, forcing both seasoned and less-experienced drivers to adapt to the new layout. Bakchis adapted to the technical demands of the course and qualified 10th in his CBM Motorsports Powered LS2 Team M7 Japan/Nexen Tire Nissan 240SX.

Bakchis won the Top 32 round against Patrick Goodin and was paired with Matt Powers for Top 16. Bakchis and Powers put on an exciting and technical tandem presentation where Bakchis was awarded the win. Following a fierce battle and a near "one-more-time" run with Daigo Saito during the Top 8 round, Saito was awarded the win and Bakchis finished the event in Top 8.

After placing Top 16 at Formula Drift Round 1 and placing Top 8 at Round 2, Bakchis is currently eighth in overall series points. The results thus far indicate that Bakchis will put on a strong showing this season and will continue to impress the crowd as he grows as a driver in the pro championship series.
