Default amp wiring questions?

ok so my buddy just bought a '95 firebird and its already got a system in it. He said its got 2 12" power acoustik subs, a 2 channel kenwood kac-7201 amp and a sony 2 channel xm-1652z amp. Now the way its hooked up is both subs are ran to the sony amp like its bridged( both negatives stacked on negative of one channel, and both positives stacked on positive of one channel. Then the rca cables are run from the input on the sony to the output on the kenwood. Then the rca's from the input on the kenwood to the headunit. So basically nothing is hooked up to the speaker terminals on the kenwood, the only thing hooked up on it is the line in and line out. Is this the correct way that it should be wired so both amps are powering both subs?
