Default Almost Free data plan for you carputer guys

I found this thread on mp3car dot com.

It talks about using boost mobile phone as a cheap alternative to a data plan.

i think there are only 2 people on here that actually have a carputer though lol. besides me, but i havent installed it yet. just got my used laptop off ebay for 70 shipped and am posting from it now

i have the alltel business plan though. unlimited text and unlimited high speed internet for your whole family for $40 a month. I havent looked at the link since i have this but its a good deal since 4 people are on it.

haha true Afro.

That is a great price for a used laptop.
What are the specs for it and what are you going to mostly use it for?
I rethought my entire carputer over.

I am Looking for a better alternative for the brain instead of the asus eeepc.

ibm thinkpad r40 2681-cu3

Intel P4-m 2.4GHz
256mb ram
40gig hdd
16MB ATI Radeon 7500

also you can get a second battery to put in cd place which i will probably do for longer standby times. got for cheap because the screen doesnt work. runs fairly fast though. not nearly as fast as my gateway P-7811fx lol. loading RR today to see how it runs. will be for simple stuff. most I want it to do is play videos while on gps, if possible. probably will upgrade the ram some, unless i dont need to since more ram costs standby time (and hibernation resume, though with a second battery it should never be in hibernation.).
