Not your typical DRL thread....
One day about a month ago, i had the dash blinker staying lit. Knowing what the problem was, i go to the passenger front blinker and try to pull the socket out. It wasn't there. At least not where it was supposed to be. It had fallen out of the drl housing and onto the plastic below. And by doing so, it literally melted the plastic. So when i get under my car, i discover this:
the bulb being literally glued to the plastic, i had to give it a good tug and a push from that hole to break it loose. Just shows how hot those little bastards get.

On my eBay clear corners, the housing was never perfect so the 3157 bulb n it's socket were just hanging on there.
When I had go change the bulb, I realized that bulb was actually molded into the clear corner lens's housing and hence why it never fell out like your socket did.
These do get really hot due to two fillaments.
