I am going to be replacing the window motors in my TA at some point and am going to get someone to perform the mod to make them work much better. I want to order them and would like to search the internet for the best price. I know that things changed in some model years in that some years needed just a motor swap and some needed the housing, motor, and the whole 9 yards. I have a 2002 TA, what part numbers would i need for both Driver and Passenger doors? Thanks in advance!

the rest you wont know till you take it all apart... take out the thermal switch in the motor.. thats all you need to do

Just wondering, but why wouldn't you know until you take it apart? Won't certain model years have specific setups that are the same for that given production year?

all 93-02 fbodys have the same window setup... even the glass is the same. You wont know what killed your motor (if it wasnt just old) until you take the door apart and inspect it.. dont just throw another motor in and call it good... check the tracks, rollers, gears, mounting holes, felt and alignment.. all those will kill a motor... btw, most of the parts, besides the motor are discontinued I think... you can still find them on ebay and occasionally on here. GMPartsDirect will likely be your best bet. All the motors will take a **** on you eventually, the lift design is strenuous on the motors so they heat up. there is a thermal switch that gets weak over time so the motor only runs for a second, if it runs at all... remove it and wire it direct. Just dont hold down your window button like a retard and burn the motor up...

HI, i just buy two new motors for 30 bucks each, the ACDelco ones for a Firebird 97 from amazon, the part number is 88960088, i took this number from shbox.com where there also a guide to change them. i think all models use the same part.
