Default Shorty Antennas

Do these short antennas as found on Ebay, etc. really work as good as the stock ones? I listen to the radio alot, but I'd really like a shorter antenna.

I installed one before I switched to an electric antenna and didn't notice any difference one way or the other.

I just cut mine and it still works and looks better.

Ditto... to about 13" and it was free I also used a vacuum cap for the top.
