Default rear dome light blowing fuses?

So I went to replace rear dome light in the ta, and instantly blows the fuse, switch out the fuse and blows that one right away too. Why would it do this?

And on another note, there's this tick noise like every 15 seconds coming from the glove box area, Wtf is that? Almost sounds like a turn signal click

Car is a 98 trans am

Bump! This just happened to me as well. Havn't had time to look into yet but, if someone has remedied this, it would be nice to know.

Sounds like a problem in the BCM. Any other symptoms? Maybe like other lights or windows or radio intermittently not working?

Can't speak for the OP but, no other issues as far as mine goes. The SES light is on but, I think it's from that POS skip shift I installed and doesn't seem to work. I had bought a LED bulb for the rear interior light and as soon as I installed it it blew a fuse. Put in new fuse and popped it again. Left it alone at that point and have not looked at it since. It's a simple wire to and from receptacle. Maybe the LED bulb caused it?

OK. Curiosity was killing me. Went out and reinstalled the factory bulb and all is good. No blown fuse and working properly. POS LED bulb I guess, how ever that works.

Probably a short in the LED bulb then.
