Default water temp gauge ?

i recently got a digital cyberdyne water temp. gauge. i hooked up the power ground, and sender, and everything was working fine. today on my way home from work, the temp kept rising, and rising. eventually it just read "HI"
I have the sender hooked up to the passenger side of the block, behind the coil packs, i dont see any obvious wiring problems, but im not 100% sure. it isnt impossible that i screwed something up somewhere. any ideas on what is causing this problem is appreciated. thanks

Check the connection to the sender. If it is shorted to ground it will read off scale high.

Do you have the dimmer hooked up? If so I think that it will do that if you dim them before you actually turn them on.
