Default CD Player won't play CD's

I've got a 99 Silverado with the factory stereo. My question today is why won't the stock CD player play the CD's that I've burned from my computer. I've tried 2 diff burning programs, Dell Jukebox and Sonic Recordnow. I've teasted both of these programs at 10x speed and 4x speed with no luck. But my CD's work in my home stereo so I know the disk works. Anyone have any recommendations or knowledge as to why my CD player in my truck won't play these CD's. And yes, the MP3 files have been changed to WAV files. I'm using Verbatim CD-RW disks.
Thanks in advance.

That is interesting, Burned cd's have always played on my stock cd players. Has it always done this or it just started all of a sudden?

There is your answer. Not all CD players recognize CD-RW disks. Stick with CD-R disks for use in audio CD-players. The brand doesnt really matter, but the blue (the writing surface) Verbatim ones are good. What matters is the writing surface. Typically blue is better than gold or green.

In case anyone is wondering...
CD-RW --> ReWritable (erase and write again)
CD-R ----> Recordable (write once)

Thanks VIP1. I'll go and buy just a CD-R and see if that helps.

Some CD players are also picky about brands. Try a Verbatim CD-R first. If that doesnt work, then you can try another brand. Before you go spending money, see if you can borrow one from a friend.
