Default Need help with door speaker install

The other day I bought some Alpine speakers to replace my stock monsoon speakers up front.

I think I may have wired them wrong. I am still using the connector. I cut the red and black wires on the monsoon speakers. I joined the black wires togther, and I joined the red wires together. Then I connected those to the alpine type r speakers.

At first the speakers sounded ok just kind of quiet, which I later found out that they were 4ohm instead of 2ohm like the monsoon speakers. So after install I did a test and turned up the stereo about half way, and speakers are cracking up very badly.

Has anybody had the problem or know what it is? All comments welcome and Thanks in advance.

Eric

Fixed problem, just hooked up both blue wires to speaker positive and negative. I didnt connect the yellow and brown wire to anything. Sounds good now.

Thanks for the replies

Eric
