Question Not sure how to mount my new HU

Just got my new HU today. I'm pretty new at this, but I did a preliminary wiring and I got it working, if you can believe it. Anyway, the mounting kit I got doesn't really seem to be a mounting kit at all. It looks more like just a faceplate. Links to pictures are below. This is all I have to mount my HU unless I'm really missing something?

Also, I've read in some past posts that some people have to trim a piece off the mounting bracket in the dash to keep the HU from sticking out too far. Is this the piece they were talking about?

OK, lets see if i can explain this... your cd player should have came with a metal sleve looking thing.. the metal sleve thing sticks inside of that plastic (face plate) you took the pictures of... then the "face plate" bolts to the car with the bolts you took out of the factory player... then your new cdplayer will slide into the "sleve" and should lock in it... thats probably the best i can explain it

edit: when you put the sleve through the "face plate" you took the pictures of... they will be triangle tabs on the sleve that you need to bed up to keep the sleve stuck into the faceplate.. i hope this helps

This pieice you circled red is what you have to break off - so your HU doesn't stick out too far.

Once you break the plastic peice -the red one you circled in the picture- you will still have a metal peice that you will then just bend it down so your new radio doesn't stick out too far. I see you own a WS6 I own a Camaro but the peice is the same on my car.

Yea your going to have to break that piece off for that kit, I had an ugly kit that sticks out like 10,000 feet from my dash so I didnt have to break that piece off, but did anyway, just crank it back a little bit and it should crack back.

Thanks for the help. I got it put in today and it looks pretty good. Had a lot of minor problems, which were mostly my fault, but I got them all worked out.
