I've read a lot about how people are disconnecting their OnStar from their vehicle and making a serial connection to the back of the box so they can hook up their laptop to it. This way then can get GPS for free, without paying for OnStar. People are experimenting with the OnStar hardware left in the vehicles. I'm looking for any techies who have been able to call their own vehicles in the same manner Onstar contacts you if your airbag deploys. Any one have an idea?
