thinking of adding subs so one of my friends uncles has 3 12W6v2 JL subs and a Crossfire 1000 watt monoblock amp and he is looking to sell them. I was wondering if i took 2 of the subs and the amp and god a new head unit could i use the existing monsoon speakers or would i have to get new ones??

Yep, I'd jump on those W6's & amp. That'd be a nice set up. Especially with an aftermarket HU. The real issue with the Monsoon is the distortion box they call a radio. With a new nicer HU you get a cleaner signal for the Monsoon to amplify so it is much easier on the stock speakers.
