Default Subwoofer performance on hot/humid days

Is it normal for a sub in a sealed box to sound "different" on 90+ days? Seems to distort a bit easier on hotter days and produces not as much bass.

I've honestly never noticed a difference and it gets 110+ here.

Heat causes voltage loss though, so you might be getting less power, not related to the speakers though.

it depends on the material that the surround is made of, and the type of box it's in, also.

the foam surrounds shouldn't have much difference between cold/hot, but ones made out of rubber will get a bit harder when it's cold, and you should know what happens to rubber when it gets cold.....it gets stiffer, which will limit cone travel somewhat (not a lot, but some).

and on the other end of the spectrum, when rubber gets hot, it gets more flexible, allowing the cone to move more freely.

you will notice it a bit more when it's hot if it's in a ported box vs. a sealed box. a sealed box (if it's airtight) will act as a suspension limiter all on its own, because the air inside the box will have nowhere to go when the subwoofer moves inward. on a ported box, you don't have that "air spring", so the cone is going to travel farther.
