Default Antoher help me upgrade front speakers...

I've searched and it seems that installing a component set is best, but how do you install it? What connects to what?

I'm thinking of just using the stock crossover and upgrading the 6.5's and tweets. Anything wrong with that?

The best sounding set up ususally is a component set plus the Trans Am/firebird doors are already configured this way. You can just replace the speakers themselves without using the crossovers that the components come with, however, keep in mind that a good component sets xovers are usually matched to those speakers and keeps them in the optimal frequency ranges for the best sound quality, performance and power handling. Either way it would work but you may be losing some sound quality and power handling by not using them.

Can always go active too. Active > Passive. More tuning involved though.

So just get some replacement subs and tweets and use the factory crossover as opposed to a component set with a crossover?

You can but sometimes it costs just as much to purchase the 2 seperately as it does as a component set. I have some seperate tweeters and the CDT midbasses of course...if you want to buy a set of CDT midbasses I'll give you a seperate set of tweeters at no charge and I'll throw in the shipping. They aren't CDT tweeters but they would work with the stock crossovers and sound better than stock. If your interested PM me!!

Since those tweeters work with the stock crossover, can you tell me what the stock crossover point is for the monsoon amp, the tweeter's recommended crossover, and the Fs?
