Default sub and amp suggestions

ok, i have a dual 12" ported box. im looking to get some subs and an amp for them. i really like my current sony, but i figured i'd take a plunge an explore some other options. what i'm basically looking for is a relatively cheap setup that will give me alot of bass and rumble with some durability. i can get 2 sony's and a sony 1200w amp for under 350, so im gonna set my budget around 500. any ideas?

two JLw1v2

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...ch=jl+w1&tp=13
(you can get them cheaper at other stores, i got two of them from a local dealer with a 2 year warranty for 99$ a piece
or get some Kicker comp 12s, which ever you choose

and then get a good amp... Kenwood, JL, Audiobahn...so many to name... hell, even sony

Hop on ebay. Infinity 1211a amp solid amp drops 1200rms and a pair of polk momo12s.

Momos can be found for 100 each shipped
1211a goes for around 275 shipped

so under 500 there. if it were me thats what i would do, some ppl will recommend type-r but i find it to be sloppy sounding. this setup will blow away the sonys

I had the momos for a while on the polk amp (only500rms and pricey, but i got a deal through work) and it was decently loud. The momos then ended up in 69z-28's car on 1200wrms from a jbl amp which is owned by infinity so its all the same and it slammed.

haha, that sounds like it would be worth the 500 then. definitely gonna get myself a nice summer present lol. ive been looking for the subs and caint find them on ebay. i'll keep checking back, but are there any other decent subs that will pair nicely with the infinity amp? btw i found the amp for 260 plus 30 shipping.

You said that you "have a ported box" for two 12"s...... what are the specs on the ported box? You may or may not want to narrow your possibilities depending on the box specs..

i dont really know the dimensions of the box, but it is really big, as in way too big for my camaro. i plan to put it in my taurus, and then move the subs and amp to a subthump box when i get one for the camaro. but i bought this box for only 20, and it is in great shape for the price. my best guess is probably around 1.5cu ft for each sub. its bigger then 2 of my 1cu ft sealed boxes put together.

Whatever you do don't get the sonys i bought that same setup a couple years ago as a starter level system and for the money you can get something so much better, research it and do your homework you will be glad you did!

ok, so i've found the subs i think. they are only rated at 400wrms, so wouldnt the infinity amp rip them apart? or did i find the wrong subs? they are titled polk momo 12's.
