buy a paint ball gun insted. lot less hassale with cops and just as fun... as far as self defence... have some one unload a couple rounds of paint ***** at you without any padding on and tell me if your still in a fighting mood..
i hate people that cant respect our hobbie... its not that they have to enjoy what we do but i just want them to have enough respect to leave us alone if they dont like it

I am very fond of modding too, N2O. However, a TC or cam will do very little for you when some crack-addict is breaking into your house and threatening the progeny.

Mario, Glock is a good choice but there is no external safety (save the one on the trigger). While there are many other fine weapons out there, I'm fond of "Old Ugly" aka 1911-type .45 ACP. I've owned several different types and calibers of pistols and I don't want to shoot anything else. Just personal preference and my $.02.

BTW, how long will you have to wait to buy a handgun up there? The bureaucracy can be a little rough, as I understand it. Thank God Virginia isn't like that. Here you need 3 things: An ID, no felonies on your record, and a form of payment. You're in and out in less than an hour.

When I researched handguns I checked out the Glocks, S&W's, Beretta, but the one that really stuck out and the one I bought was the Sig P229 It is small enough to carry and comes with two barrels, one chambered for .40 S&W the other one being the very very potent .357 sig,it is pure hate. Whatever you get make sure it has knockdown power. Stay away from the 9mm and smaller calibers. By the way not to preach but don't ever pull a gun on someone else unless your life is in immediate danger, you will spend the forseeable future trying to remember not to bend over and pick up the soap.

99,

I agree to all. Sig's are sweet. Kinda like an LS1... they just "feel" right. Easy to identify but hard to explain. I'm leaning toward the Sig next. I'll never get rid of the Colt, but who says ya can't have more than one?!

I agree with the statements above though that having a non-cheapy is the only way to do it, my mom has a high-point 9mm that is fairly accurate but is the cheapest constructed gun I have ever handled. If you must have home defense and are on a budget a cheapy will do fine, at least until you need the next bullet and the f*cker jams, thanks high-point!!

For home defense you cannot beat a sawed off 12 with OO buck (take the plug out).

I do believe the dual ma dueces would be rather useless on the road. All they have to do is maneuver on your six and you do not have a shot.

Well ... I will have a flame thrower come out of each of my exhaust tips for the rear .... And incase they pull up next to me ... I'll just give them the finger.

In stead of flame throwers have a 20 inch tail pipe that just blows them off the road. Ricers do it all the time (that does not sound correct...).

Or you could have that fat chick that the honda dude drove a thousand miles to see and just push her out of the car and crush the enemy car like a flippin' piece of aluminium foil.

Colt 1911 is the way to go. It is an old design but it is extremely simple and reliable. I dad has 2. He has a full size and an officers (a little more compact). I am going to be getting one as soon as i turn 21 so i can get my concealed carry permit.
