That poor car

And FYI, mph at the track actually means a SHITLOAD more than you think. MPH generally will tell you how fast a car "should" run with a good 60ft. And for a roll race, a car that MPH's faster will generally pull up top. Pretty sure MPH is almost as important as the ET itself.

For certain people yes. To others, ET means absolutely everything and MPH means nothing. I do more street racing then track racing (since ours is closed it doesn't matter which I'd like to do) so MPH is big for me. Too bad my car is slow.

I do much more street racing than anything else as well. MPH was always one of the things I pay close attention to. Guess if just ET floats your boat then thats fine. All the numbers mean something though so it's good to know and understand what they all tell you about a certain car.

Granted I'd probably pay close attention to my mph over my ET with a single tire fire set up!

You're right, MPH doesn't mean ****. We all know on the street that they have timing lights at every intersection and use billboards to post your E.T.

Do you live your life a quarter mile at a time?
Whoa this blew up fast haha.

Yea the ss was powershifting and he was pulling him hard. That gt is no joke on the street. He down 370 rwhp and 450 rwtq if im not mistaken. when I race that gt it's usually the same outcome I end up right at his back tire at the quarter when im on street tire's. When I do get tire's he is going to be the first one to feel my wrath lol.

The GT really hasn't lost on the street too much around here. He gets out on people and they cant catch him in time.

Hey that was your fault more or less. Everybody told you to boost that car from the jump. But noooo you wanted to throw a bunch of motor parts at a single-cam 4.6. lol

I dont think so stopsign. Also I realize how important mph is to determine a street race. obviously a 90mph>85mph car from a roll and its a good number to show power. Im just saying at a track id rather have the lower ET than higher mph

Granted it was the year 1999! And there wasn't much info out on naturally-aspirated 2V build ups, let alone before/after performance tests or even internal/external parts for that motor period. Hell I had no idea all the money I spent on heads, cams, intake, trans, rear, tires, suspension etc. would only be good enough for a low 12-second car that wasn't so "street-friendly" anymore. lol But yeah I should have listen to you guys in the beginning.

Ok.....I'll agree with you on the track part as well, having a better ET.

MPH does not mean ****???? Ohh no!! I have to disagree with you on that! The MPH at the end of the trap means everything. Traps speed is great indicator of how fast a car really is. ET's can get better with suspension, gears or even AWD however, it will not show up that much in the trap speed.

My old ms4 car when cam only trapped 92-93mph.. my buddies 5.3 f13 car trapped high high 80 with occasional 90.. I cut bottom 1.6 short times he cut bottom 1.7.. I ran mid 7s he ran mid to high 7s.. EVERY time we ran from a roll (we did everything from 20 to 60) he would jump out about a car to car and half and hold me off. All of our races went to about 125..
Mph doesn't tell you much.. Sure a huge gap like 93 and 85 it is clear or 123 and 115.. but 2-4 mph in the 1/8 or 1/4 is a toss up from a roll. He had a better mid range car.
BTW, we also made within 3rwhp of each other.

Rolls and traps dont matter any way you break it down. Et is all that matters at the end of the day.
