Nice numbers man! Those numbers for the MACH seem about right based on what Ford rates it. That little 281ci does struggle to make power.
On a side note though, it is now always about Hp/trq. The MACH 1 is geared pretty aggressively between the Tremec 3650 and the 3.55s. It also does not weigh much. In addition, the cams are not designed for Hp but more for trq and acceleration for the 1/4 mile.
This combination makes it a nice little package and underestimated..
That's what makes driving a manual at the track so bittersweet sometimes. Getting your best times feels like beating the **** out of the car. Diff between fast lift shifts and power shifting was almost 2mph on my C5.
When stock /stockish i noticed a small difference power shifting if traction was there 1~mph. It seems to make no difference now . I stop doin it because it is hard on parts for a minimal return.

I agree, you have to beat the **** out of the car for the best times. Power shifting a car is like choking your girlfriend during rough sex

Regardless, I always seem to get my *** handed to me by LS1s (and sometimes an LT1) anyway so it does not mean much anyway what a magazine says.
You are right the gearing is set up pretty well and when I drove his mach 1 I was surprised by that. The shaker hood is pretty damn cool also!
Agreed. A MACH 1 would be better match for a Maxima or 350Z (non HR) or something along that line. An LS1/LT1 has always been out of range to be considered a good run.
As for the Mach/4th gen/5th gen, the Mach is a little slower than the 4th gen (ceteris paribus), and the 4th gen is a little slower than a 5th gen... the Mach maybe shouldn't have gotten pulled like THAT, but an LS3 SS vs. a 5spd Mach 1 should be a very one-sided race...even if the Mach has a couple of bolt-ons.
01 WS6 Only mod .... K&N. Mach could never hang with me stick or auto. My buddy was on a waiting list for one , I think he has number 3 or 4 but he talked so much **** about how he was going beat me. lets just say he was very let down!

Doesn't take much for a mach to outrun a stock 5th gen.
Meh you guys are just getting trolled. Automach knows that, most things equal (such as drivers and traction), a LS3 5th gen will be faster than a Mach stock for stock and mod for mod.
