Car sounds great! Wins a win whether it "should" have happened or not. We will definitely have to line up some time.

IMO the driver of the EVO made two mistakes when he ran me. He did not brake boost and he did not no lift shift. You can see when he goes to shift into 4th in the video I really pull him pretty bad. We are planning on getting some better videos soon. 20mph, 40mph, and then 60mph rolls.

I think if he brake boosts and no lift shifts it will be much closer, with the edge probably going to him. The run in the video I started in 3rd gear at 55mph which is a dead spot for me anyways. I'll make sure i'm more in my powerband in the next races.

Enjoy.
that set up on paper, he wouldnt need to brake boost and wont even need to " no lift shift " and still put lengths on you easily, but it never works out like that, some cars are just built/set up shitty or shitty driver, or both, which in this case both judging from what i saw on the video,

regardless nice kill,

Evo's dyno sheet for anyone interested. He is talking with his tuner about making a few adjustments and then we will run again.

My buddies C5Z has been 98 in the 1/8th and loses to our buddies stock turbo Evo every time. He can come around the Evo after 120-125. The nitrous system blew a fuse one night and accidently raced a 35r Evo on the motor and it put 5-6 cars on him from 40-100.

What is the setup on the stock turbo EVO? Friend of mine has an Evo8 with Evo9 turbo, full bolt ons, cams, 28psi made 362whp and best pass in 50 degree weather is 12.6 at 110mph. Other friend has an Evo8 with an FP green that trapped a best of 111mph at 25psi. We don't have E85 here....only 93 pump so maybe that is the difference?

1500 rpms of peak power is fine as long as you start there.

My Evo IX with intake, exhaust, high flow cats, downpipe, cams, fuel pump, etc made 363hp/330tq on 23psi with the stock turbo and intercooler. Not sure how much difference the MIVEC head on the IX makes but that VIII seems low for 28psi.

Even on 93 that trap is low, I made 343 whp on a dynojet (filter, turbo back, mbc set to 22psi, 93 octane) and trapped 114 when I didn't know to hold 4th and then 116 when I let it touch the limiter...horrible 60's too cause I had falken azenis on and had to roll through the water box. This is on a ix, the 8's have slightly longer gearing which I believe helps at the bolt on 116 trap area.

My Z06 weighs 3075lbs with about 1/4 tank of gas. I don't know how much the Evo weighs but I think around 3200lbs

^ that's what I figured the bolt on EVO's in my area would trap. Not even close though unfortunately. Our track is at sea level so I don't know what the issue is.

Usually its due to people running a cheap single disk clutch that usually cause lock out and slow shifting issues, my twin disk is my favorite mod on mine and dramatically changed everything (launching ability, easier to shift fast and no lift shift if needed, didn't slip in 1st under repeated launches) and most guys shift to 5th which usually knocks down the mph some.

More often than not the drivers dump the clutch and think just because they're going nose up and its hooking that its a good launch, you ever go to the evo vs sti events? 2.0 60's everywhere and the smell of burnt clutch lingers in your nose for hours lol.

And as we all know not all tunes are equal, I got tuned by a well known shop in my area...made 343 whp which was right about where I should be for my mods and couldn't understand why my traps were low the first time at the track, after datalogging I found 11-13 counts of knock that the shop blamed on 'ny gas' lol.

Btw I love your car, I'm in the market for an 04 electron blue z or possibly an 05 Le Mans next year.

This times a million. why anyone would race a 4cyl with a decent turbo and not brake boost is beyond me.
